ONLINE ~ 6 Week Course

Therapeutic Yoga for those affected by Cancer

Welcome 😊 It’s lovely to have you visit this page.

My 6-week personalised course, for those affected by cancer, offers an opportunity for a unique experience. It is a boutique-style, weekly class that is both safe and inclusive of all levels. It is tailored specifically to assist with gently building strength, sense of balance and relaxation for one’s unique physical and mental well-being journey.

Within my yoga school, Simple as Pi Yoga & Meditation, all abilities are made to feel welcome within each class. I understand the journey of chronic illness due to my own lived experience with a bowel disease as well as supporting my own mother through breast cancer. Treatment and recovery can be a challenging experience so it is for this reason that I designed this boutique course specifically for individuals who have undergone cancer treatment and are looking for a safe and supportive space to explore the healing benefits of yoga.

My therapeutic yoga program includes:

  • Entirely ONLINE , and live from the comfort of your own home
  • Option for your carer to attend FREE of charge
  • One-on-one Intake Assessment prior to the course commencement so that I can understand your health history and shape yoga to meet your goals
  • 6 x weekly classes exploring gentle yoga postures, sometimes with the use of chairs, meditation and breathing exercises
  • Online via the FREE software Zoom
  • After the completion of the course, one FREE admission to a community class at Simple As Pi Yoga & Meditation

Practicing yoga improves physical functioning, quality of life, and mental health outcomes in cancer survivors, thus supporting its potential benefits as a complementary therapy.

I have carefully designed the course to assist with reducing your levels of stress, alleviate anxiety, gently build strength and flexibility and an improved sense of self confidence. You’ll also learn practical techniques for managing pain and fatigue, and finding greater sense of peace and relaxation in your daily life.

If you wish to, you will have the opportunity to connect with other cancer survivors. If you choose not to that is absolutely fine! The focus for this course is not cancer but rather offering you a welcoming environment with the shared goal of improving overall quality of life.

Whether you’re a beginner or have experience with yoga, my program is carefully designed to help you enhance your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

What my clients are saying...

"I highly recommend Heather as a Yoga Teacher and Therapist. She is friendly, warm and nurturing, which immediately puts you at ease, and she genuinely cares. Heather empowers you with evidence-based practices that help you to live your best life."
"Doing yoga therapy with Heather one-on-one is a deeply nourishing and personal experience. In our private sessions we’re able to really hone in on any concerns that I had with my body on a particular day and in general. I gained a much greater understanding of my breathing patterns and learned some specific practices for bringing my breath back into balance when I need to."
"Thanks again for your lovely guidance and feedback. I have learnt a lot and really enjoyed my sessions with you."

Who am I to teach a specialised course for cancer survivors?

I am also passionate about bringing therapeutic yoga into less conventional yoga spaces such as hospitals. I currently offer exclusive, weekly classes to the healthcare staff at Fiona Stanley Hospital, giving them the same opportunity to seek a space for their own mental and physical well-being.
